Catalog description

Prepares students to conduct economic analysis of the health care market. Covers topics such as the supply and demand of health care services, health insurance and the role of asymmetric information, technology and the cost of health care, the role of government in health care, and health externalities. Highlights current empirical work using state-of-the-art econometric techniques to illustrate how knowledge is advanced and consensus emerges and dissipates over time.
