Catalog description

Provides a foundation for understanding and analyzing health care delivery and financing systems from an applied economics perspective. The course will introduce economic concepts related to the demand for and the supply of health, health care, and health insurance. The course will discuss the economic incentives leading to health care decisions by consumers, providers, and payers. The course will also cover the role of the government in health care and health policy issues in the U.S. health care system, including Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance, and other current health care agenda. Offered by Hlth Admin, Policy/Informatics . May not be repeated for credit.
