Explores questions of agency as associated with tools, machines, objects, data, and (semi) autonomous algorithms, with considerations of how political theory informs the evolving study of public data. Examines the relationship between concept of ‘humanity’ and the world of tools and machines, concepts of objects as data, the political nature of tools, and how tools ‘act’ and have ‘agency’ in the world.Offered by Schar Govt/International Affrs.
