Offers an in-depth exploration of the key social and behavioral science theories, models, and frameworks that are widely applied in the field of public health. Students will explore the history and the development of foundational and contemporary concepts that explain why individuals and populations engage in certain health-related behaviors and how these behaviors impact health outcomes. Through the study of these theories, models, and frameworks students will also learn how to effectively design, implement, and evaluate interventions and policies aimed at addressing some of today’s most pressing public health challenges, such as chronic diseases, infectious diseases, and health disparities.
