Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how organizations operate, compete, and create value. This course provides a foundation in AI, beginning with its evolution and the core approaches that enable machines to learn from data, recognize patterns, and make predictions. Students will develop a conceptual understanding of how AI systems work, including machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing, as well as emerging capabilities in generative AI such as large language models and multimodal systems. The course also explores how individuals interact with AI through prompting and how these technologies are reshaping the future of work through automation and augmentation. Finally, students will examine the strategic opportunities AI creates for organizations, along with the ethical, governance, and implementation challenges associated with responsible AI. The emphasis throughout is on understanding AI in context and applying these insights to real-world business.Offered by SBUS Multidisciplinary. May not be repeated for credit.
