Analyzes a selection of important literary texts (novel, short story, poetry, and/or theater) and authors in their historical and cultural contexts: Negritude, (post)colonialism, new African voices within and beyond the continent. Advanced critical research and writing required. Notes: May be repeated for credit when topic is different. Offered by Modern & Classical Languages .
