Intensive study of particular author, genre, period, or critical or theoretical problem in literature or linguistics, to be conducted by student in close consultation with instructor. Student produces at least one substantial piece of written work during semester on research findings. Notes: May be repeated with approval of department. Offered by English . May be repeated within the term for a maximum 6 credits.
