Examines the diagnostic criteria used to identify individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the identification and assessment process. Analyzes the role of families in the assessment process and issues and challenges related to identification, diagnosis and assessment. Surveys the intersectionality between ASD and sexuality, sexual identity, gender identity, race, class, and other marginalized identities; the historic and current challenges related to this intersectionality; and ways to address these challenges.Offered by School of Education.
