Examines language acquisition and literacy development of diverse young learners, birth-age 5. Emphasizes language acquisition, reading, and writing in young children with diverse abilities and from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. Focuses on evidence-based assessment and instructional practices that promote young children’s language and literacy development. Notes: Field experience required.Offered by School of Education.
