Catalog description

This course examines electric machinery within the broader landscape of clean energy technologies. It covers the principles, modeling, and control of electric machines and high-efficiency motor drives, with applications in electric vehicles, wind and hydro systems, and advanced nuclear energy. Students will learn to design and analyze electric drive systems by evaluating load requirements, applying key electrical and magnetic principles, and implementing modern control strategies. Through simulation tools, they will model machine behavior, examine machine–drive interactions, improve control performance, and validate overall system dynamics. Offered by Electrical & Comp. Engineering . May not be repeated for credit.
