Catalog description

This doctoral-level course examines the research foundations and emerging frontiers of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity. The emphasis is on the development and evaluation of novel AI methodologies for predicting, detecting, and responding to sophisticated cyber threats. Topics include probabilistic graphical models, causal and reinforcement learning, and other advanced AI paradigms such as generative AI and agentic AI as applied to the security of cyber-physical systems. Students will engage with current research literature, analyze state-of-the-art approaches, and conduct original experimental or theoretical studies aimed at extending the field. Coursework includes a research project suitable for publication or dissertation integration. Offered by Cyber Security Engineering . May not be repeated for credit.
