This course explores the multifaceted responsibilities of cybersecurity engineers, covering engineering ethics, government policy, law, regulation, and global implications. Students examine industry practices and entrepreneurship through lectures and debates featuring faculty and experts from government and industry. As a "Writing Across the Curriculum" (WAC) course, it emphasizes professional development in technical communication, including research writing and oral presentations. A central component is developing a comprehensive cybersecurity research paper through iterative deliverables and instructor feedback. Additionally, a seminar series introduces topics beyond the core curriculum to broaden students' professional horizons; students will synthesize these sessions through short analytical papers. By the end of the term, students will have refined their ability to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
