Catalog description
This course provides a foundation for building secure software by applying security principles to the software development lifecycle. Topics covered include security in requirements engineering, secure design, risk analysis, threat modeling, deployment of cryptographic algorithms, defensive coding, penetration testing, fuzzing, static analysis, and security assessment. Students will learn the practical skills for developing and testing secure software. Note: This course may interest students specializing in the software aspects of cybersecurity engineering and requires a foundation in System Engineering and at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python). The course is organized into three parts: • Unit 1 - Unit 1 - Web Programming Foundations • Unit 2 – Web Threats • Unit 3 - DevSecOps Fundamentals Offered by Cyber Security Engineering . Limited to two attempts.
