Catalog description

A comprehensive exploration of peace education as a global, interdisciplinary, and transformative field, emphasizing its relevance in an era of interconnectedness and social complexity. Peace education extends beyond the classroom, equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to foster cultures of peace, address structural injustices, and build resilient communities in diverse local and global contexts. We will explore case studies from various regions, highlighting how peace education is implemented in formal and informal settings, from conflict-affected areas to urban classrooms and indigenous knowledge systems. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with a deep understanding of peace education theories and methods, as well as practical tools to design and implement peace education initiatives in their own communities. Emphasis will be placed on critical reflection, creative problem-solving, and engaging real world peacebuilding efforts. Offered by Conflict Analysis & Resolution . Limited to three attempts.
