The course focuses on ethical and controversial issues related to computing. Topics include professional codes of conduct, discrimination and inequality, intellectual property rights, computer-human interaction, data collection and privacy, digital security, social media related liabilities, and algorithmic bias. These issues will be discussed in the context of artificial intelligence and machine learning, internet of things, autonomous systems, and adoption of invasive technologies, and human enhancements. Students will discuss recent research and case studies that emphasize and articulate the legal, ethical, and social implications of computer technologies. Offered by Computer Science .
