Catalog description

This course examines the legal principles associated with the construction process. After introducing the class to general legal and project delivery concepts, the course provides an in-depth review of the rights and responsibilities of the major construction project participants. Major topics include the application of the changes and differing site conditions clauses, delay claims, termination rights, remedies for breach of contract, and dispute resolution techniques. The course will also include a review of current industry issues that have legal ramifications, such as principles of risk management, and unique contractual and legal challenges with design-build and construction management.
