Catalog description

Community ecology focuses on the interactions between coexisting species and their environment. Students will gain familiarity with concepts in the field of community ecology and focus this knowledge on long term trends of community structure, species interactions, and species survival for application in the larger fields of ecology and conservation biology. Within the context of community ecology students will assess different abiotic and biotic mechanisms, such as climate change, ecosystem disturbance, predator prey relations, and pathogens, to assess how they affect community structure.
