Catalog description

This course covers a variety of advanced computational methods for modeling biomedical systems spanning multiple scales, from cells and molecules to tissues, organs and systems. Topics include: modeling cell biomechanics, modeling biofluids including blood flows, modeling biotransport phenomena including bioheat and molecular diffusion, and modeling tissue biomechanics, and modeling organs and physiological systems. Computational techniques will include: discrete particle dynamics methods, finite differences and finite element methods, stochastic and agent-based modeling, and high-performance computing. Offered by Bioengineering . May not be repeated for credit.
