This course is designed to provide exposure to the concepts of cell/tissue functions and behavior and strategies to manipulate their responses, biomaterials to construct scaffolds, modern techniques of artificial organ development and wound healing and most importantly, the utilization of engineering principles for biomedical applications. The course schedule has been packaged to not only provide fundamental information on the above topics, but also to stimulate team working skills, awareness of the current scientific developments through literature review, real-time experiences through lab visit and demo, and career opportunities through industrial visits.
