Catalog description

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of biofluid mechanics, as well as principles of biotransport phenomena, both of which are important for many biomedical engineering problems. Topics in biofluid mechanics include: hydrostatics, mass, momentum and energy conservation, control volume analysis, blood rheology, viscous flows, flows in vessels, and dimensional analysis and similarity. Topics in biotransport include concepts of convection and diffusion, and biomedical problems involving mass and heat transport in biological systems. Offered by Bioengineering . Limited to two attempts.
