Examines the ways in which the various subfields of anthropology engage with the wider world. Each of the primary subfields (cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and archaeology) incorporates a distinct body of method and theory. Here, we emphasize the ways in which anthropologists integrate different kinds of knowledge and balance alternative ways of assessing meaning and relevance.
