The course explores basic concepts to understand and analyze the design of information systems. The conceptual understanding and representation of data, information, and knowledge are explored as well as ways of representing, processing, and visualizing information for humans and machines. Techniques to structure data and extract actionable patterns and knowledge are covered using data mining techniques that include descriptive and predictive methods.
