3 Lab Hours 0 Credits 3 This course focuses on the experience of African-American people in the western hemisphere, particularly the United States. It surveys the period from the African origins of the slave trade during the period of exploration and colonization to the present. The course presents a comparison between the African experience in the United States and in Mexico and South America.
