Respiratory Care Review

Catalog description

Advanced review of disease processes, patient assessment, data interpretation, equipment operation, and therapeutic procedures as outlined in the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) examination. Emphasis on quality control, pharmacologic agents, management of cardiopulmonary emergencies, clinical simulations, pulmonary rehabilitation, and home care practices. Case-based learning, review of NBRC exam content, mock board examinations, and preparation for state licensure. Prerequisites: Admission into the Respiratory Care program or permission of the Program Director.
