1 to 2 semester credit hours This course will develop learners’ critical thinking skills through an examination of topics in human ecology. During this course, learners will learn about fallacies, claims, explanations, and arguments, as well as deductive and inductive reasoning through an investigation of topics in human ecology. Topics of emphasis include climate change and global warming, food systems and security, population growth and its effects, environmental justice and empathy, resource depletion and ecological consequences, global economies and systems stability, and environmental migrations.
