Catalog description

This course will introduce key strategies to facilitate learners’ success at Galen College of Nursing. The activities focus on introduction and orientation to the College and its resources including time management, disciplinary literacy, note-taking skills, study skills, test-taking strategies, medical terminology, and methods to reduce the stress and anxiety often experienced by learners during nursing education. It is designed to help learners become familiar with expectations for academic success while earning a degree in nursing. Learners will be actively involved in learning and integrating practical applications to promote nursing-school success. This course must be taken during the first quarter a learner is enrolled at Galen College of Nursing.
