ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL LITERACY

Catalog description
This course introduces fundamental concepts and applications of artificial intelligence (AI). Students will explore topics including digital literacy, information literacy, data privacy, algorithmic bias, ethics, and safety when using AI tools and other technologies. Through case studies, students will learn how to mitigate existing social biases and uphold privacy and safety when using AI. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to ethically engage with AI and other technologies in academic and professional settings and demonstrate foundational AI literacy and a critical perspective on the opportunities and challenges AI presents in society.
