F Advanced Vocal Jazz Styling and Improvisation I

Catalog description

18 hours lecture and 18 hours lab plus 4 hours arranged time in private coaching lessons per term. This course is designed to give vocal students advanced training in jazz styling techniques, improvisation, and lead sheet writing on the latest notation computer software. Students will begin to compile a personal working songbook. Students are required to spend no less than 30 minutes per week in the practice rooms and/or listening library in addition to class time.
