54 hours lecture and 54 hours lab per term. This course focuses on the study of microorganisms that pose significant health problems at both the personal and community level. Special attention is given to the topics of infectious disease transmission, immunology, sanitation and prophylaxis. Principles of applied microbiology are stressed.
