54 hours lecture per term. This course provides instruction in academic vocabulary for advanced students of English as a second language (ESL). Students will acquire and use the 500+ most common academic words that are used in every subject area. Also presented are academic vocabulary learning principles and techniques including context clues, dictionary use, word families, as well as grammatical and collocational usage. Pass/No Pass only.
