54 hours lecture per term. This course provides an introduction to the field of education and the teaching profession. Students will develop personal knowledge and understanding of the competing purpose and values of schools in society, the nature of teaching and the teaching profession, the impact of local, state, and federal government policies on schools, and contemporary educational values.
