F Composition for Artists: Master Studies

Catalog description

36 hours lecture and 72 hours lab per term. This course is a continuation in the development of the lessons and principles presented in ART 222 F by focusing on a variety of compositional forms used in different eras and schools throughout art history. Students will be assigned a series of historical masterpieces to analyze by naming the elements used in the composition, and identifying the strategies used by the artist in applying the principles of unity and diversity.
