54 hours lecture per term. This Honors-enhanced course is a study of the theories of human origin and evolutionary development using genetic, fossil evidence, plus a comparison of humankind anatomically and behaviorally with the higher primates. This field includes current research on the intellectual and cultural equality of the human races. At a number of California State colleges and other four-year institutions, this course may be used for social sciences or biological science credit. This course will employ enhanced teaching methods such as a seminar approach, more research-based writing assignments and a higher level of critical thinking.
