DEA 215
3D Design & Environments
Forsyth Technical Community College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course covers the creation of 3D environments for animation, games, and visual storytelling, preparing students to render detailed environments for use in real-time platforms, animation workflows, or evolving production pipelines. Topics include environment modeling, layout design, modular construction, lighting, and scene assembly, with emphasis on spatial composition, visual cohesion, and preparing assets for animation, rendering, or integration into real-time engines and broader production workflows. Upon completion, students will be able to design, model, light, and assemble cohesive 3D environments-incorporating architectural and natural elements-while applying composition and layout principles to create visually compelling scenes suitable for animation, rendering, or integration into real-time engines and professional production workflows.
