This course allows the student the opportunity to expand on their nursing knowledge as they focus on acute health conditions in diverse patient populations. Through practical application, students assess, prioritize, implement, and evaluate care in acute health situations, ultimately refining their critical thinking and decision-making skills. NURS 2138* 2 Lab Holistic Nursing Care III: Lab This nursing course builds on prior lab experiences. The course is structured around key focus areas, including health and wellness, normal growth and development, population health, and practical skills needed to care for patients with acute and/or complex health conditions, including focused assessment techniques and IV therapies. NURS 2139* 3 Lab Holistic Nursing Care III: Practicum This course provides the student with opportunities to manage care for diverse patient populations in a simulated or direct patient care setting. Emphasis is placed on health promotion and caring for patients with common acute and chronic health conditions, population health, and lifespan considerations. Students will demonstrate clinical judgment through documentation of their assessment findings, care mapping, reflection activities, and evidence-based practices.
