This course provides an opportunity for students to expand on foundational knowledge gained in the first semester. By focusing on common chronic health conditions across diverse populations, students foster the practical application of their critical thinking and decision-making skills essential for providing safe and effective nursing care. NURS 1143* 1 Lab Holistic Nursing Care II: Lab This course allows students to safely demonstrate nursing assessments, nursing skills, and professional communication and collaboration. The student will expand on prior learning and apply the concepts to the patient with chronic health concerns. NURS 1144* 1 Lab Holistic Nursing Care II: Practicum This course provides the student the opportunity to integrate nursing concepts and clinical judgment frameworks and skills when providing holistic client-centered care to diverse patient populations with chronic health concerns in a simulated or direct patient care setting. Interprofessional communication is emphasized as is teamwork and collaboration. Students will demonstrate clinical judgment through documentation of their assessment findings, care mapping, reflection activities, and evidence-based practices.
