This course introduces the fundamental principles of nursing practice, emphasizing the nursing process and provision of safe, compassionate, and holistic care to diverse patient populations with common chronic conditions. Students begin to develop critical thinking skills and a decision-making framework to address health promotion, disease prevention, and client-centered care within a professional and ethical context NURS 1138 2 lab credits Holistic Nursing Care I: Lab This foundational nursing course introduces essential assessment techniques and fundamental nursing skills. The curriculum is structured around key focus areas, including health assessment, basic medical- surgical procedures, and medication administration principles NURS 1139 Holistic Nursing Care I: Practicum The course promotes the application of fundamental assessment techniques and nursing skills while providing safe, professional, client-centered care to diverse patient populations in a simulated or direct patient care setting. Students will demonstrate clinical judgment through documentation of their assessment findings, care mapping, reflection activities, and evidence-based practices.
