Catalog description

Product Development provides a disciplined, evidence-based framework for transforming validated customer needs into viable, market-ready solutions. Using the Need-Opportunity-Solution (NOS) model alongside Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies, students move rapidly from problem framing to low-fidelity prototyping and iterative validation. The course bridges creative design with business rigor, requiring teams to quantify market size, model unit economics, and navigate foundational intellectual property and ethical design considerations. Through hands-on labs and fieldwork-including stakeholder interviews and smoke-test experiments-students will leverage available resources to mitigate technical and market risks. By the end of the journey, students deliver a functional Minimum Viable Product (MVP), a data-backed product roadmap, and a professional investor-style pitch that demonstrates a clear path toward need-solution fit and sustainable growth.
