Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the Paramedic: National Standard Curriculum/EMS Education Standards which focuses on paramedic workforce safety and wellness, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) systems, public health, medical, legal, and ethical considerations, communications, documentation, medical terminology, lifespan development, patient assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision making, operations, principles of pharmacology. Students will be introduced to topics of the respiratory system; to include airway and ventilation assessment, the respiratory system disease pathophysiology and respiratory emergencies.
