Catalog description

This course builds the foundational knowledge and essential hands-on skills required for the cardiac catheterization lab. Through a combination of lecture, hands-on lab practice, and high-fidelity simulation, students will develop and demonstrate core competencies in procedural setup, sterile technique, patient safety protocols, and the operation of imaging equipment. Emphasis is placed on applying theoretical knowledge to recognize basic clinical data in a controlled environment. Successful completion of competency evaluations in this course ensures students are prepared with the fundamental skills needed for their first clinical rotation.
