Catalog description

Identifies and explains the cross-disciplinary dimensions of AI for natural language processing (NLP) through social science principles of human communication (e.g. conversational turn-taking), linguistic theory (e.g. how to build sentences), and computer science (e.g. ASCII vs. Unicode). Examines topics in the context of globalization, language endangerment, and the recent rapid rise of AI. Assumes no background in linguistics or computer science.
