Catalog description

The course introduces the 15th-19th-century history of architects, buildings, design theories and corresponding philosophies of the Renaissance, Baroque, Enlightenment, and Neoclassicism architectural historical ages in western cultural traditions. The course also introduces a comparative cultural perspective on eastern gardens and eastern-western garden encounters during the 16th-18th centuries.
