Applications to physics, space sciences and engineering. Includes geometrical optics (briefly), physical optics including Fraunhofer and Fresnel diffraction; interactions with dielectric materials; Fresnel equations; and applications including lasers, holography, polarization and nonlinear optics materials. Prerequisite: ( MTH 2201 or MTH 3200 ) and PHY 3440
