Provides a working knowledge of ship hull girder, longitudinal bending in still water and waves, and simple bending theory as it applies to ship structure. Culminates in the design of a midship section to classification society rules. Covers concepts that predict bending moment in irregular waves and analyzes local and transverse strength.
