Introduces advanced Western music through music theory, sight singing and ear training. Expands basic understanding of pitch and rhythm notation, and the fundamentals of melody, harmony and time. Covers both major and minor keys, how to perform complex rhythms at sight, and recognize melodic intervals, triad and cadence types. (HU) (LA) Prerequisite: MUS 1310
