Catalog description

Presents concepts of product and process design for manufacturing and assembly. Includes topics on product design for manufacturing, inspection and assembly considering both manual and automated approaches. Also presents the relationship between part design and ease of manufacture through the introduction of DFM and DFA methods in design. Recommended: Background knowledge equivalent to MEE 3090 Design of Machine Elements and MEE 4171 Principles of Heat Transfer .
