Catalog description

Provides a rigorous analytical treatment of the dynamics of particles and rigid bodies. Topics include kinematics and kinetics, principles of work, energy, momentum and coordinate-independent formulations of motion. Emphasis is placed on mathematical modeling and problem-solving techniques that form the foundation for advanced study in applied mechanics, robotics, aerospace and control systems. Prerequisite: MTH 1002 or MTH 1020
