Discusses electrochemical energy systems, which play crucial roles in modern society, and electrochemical components, which can be found everywhere, such as electric vehicles, computers, phones and grid-storage systems. Introduces the fundamental concepts and principles (e.g., thermodynamics, transport and kinetics) in electrochemical energy conversion and storage systems, such as electrolyzers, fuel cells, batteries and supercapacitors. Prerequisite: CHE 3110 or MEE 3191 or MET 4501 or PHY 3060
