Equips M.S. and Ph.D. students in STEM education with the knowledge and skills to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into educational settings. Explores AI’s history, key concepts and current applications, including emerging trends such as generative AI through a blend of theoretical study and practical application. Covers essential competencies like AI for teaching, learning and research, data fluency, computational thinking and ethical decision-making. Places special emphasis on generative AI’s role in content creation and personalized learning, AI-driven assessment and the ethical considerations surrounding bias and privacy in AI systems. Develops a deep understanding of how AI can transform education while critically analyzing its challenges and implications for equity and inclusion. Prerequisite: EDS 5070
