Studies the partial differential equations governing the motion of fluids and solute or contaminants in subsurface media; introduction to finite difference methods; description of the Galerkin finite element method. Uses state-of-the-art models, such as MODFLOW and SUTRA to solve real-world problems. Prerequisite: CVE 5039
